Art Basel, a world-class art fair held at the Messe Basel Hall in Switzerland from June 16th to 19th. Since it first opened in 1970, international galleries, collectors, auction houses, artists, and art lovers have gathered here every year around this time. As the art market that had been somewhat frozen due to the pandemic for the past two years reopened this year, the popularity of Art Basel is hotter than ever.
Because Art Basel is leading the global art market, visitors can enjoy a wide range of high-quality works. This year, more than 200 galleries from all over the world joined this big event, and over 4000 artists through them could show their works of art. Art director Lee Ji-soo of JW Art Gallery, which is actively targeting overseas markets, also appeared in this Art Basel to have a look. After watching the unofficial schedule, ‘Unlimited Preview’, she reported on the site, saying that fabric materials were generally catchy and there were many three-dimensional installation works.
Moreover, art director Lee Ji-soo met with world-famous artists whom the gallery has been paying attention to and positively discussed future plans together. She announced that JW Art Gallery plans to advance more overseas next year.
Meanwhile, Art Basel Hong Kong was held last month and ended with great success, and Art Basel Miami Beach is scheduled in December.
